Winter Wonderland in Tucson
This is Mt. Lemmon in Tucson 3 days after Christmas. It was about 29 degrees up there! We wanted to go up the mountain on Friday but the road was still closed due to the snow. They opened the road on Sat. for 4-wheel drive trucks and 2-wheel drive cars with chains. We called the Hooblers and invited them to go with us to play in the Winter Wonderland. We waited in line for 30 minutes about 1/2 up where the police check point was. At one point there was a Grandpa walking faster than our car. It was worth the wait.
Tia and Jonathan on a sled with handles. We didn't have any snow gear so we bundled and layered.
Ice on the pine needles looked like they had lights in them when the sun was shining.
Jonathan caught a snowball with his face.
He wasn't too happy about it and began to cry when he realized that it was cold!
Tia the Snow Angel.
Tia misjudged her speed and trajectory. She ended up off the trail and into a tree.
Ahh the smiles of a good time in the mountains.
The long walk back up the hill. We brought out the tubes later ate our lunches in the car because the kiddos were frozen.
