Fly Fishing at Lee's Ferry below Lake Powell. This is a good website to check out the area and history. http://www.nps.gov/glca/planyourvisit/lees-ferry.htm
Beautiful rainbow trout.
John D. Lee's homestead. In 1878 Charles Shumway, my mother's great great great grandfather, sent his boys from Kanab, Utah to Arizona with their cattle. They drove the cattle down to Lee's Ferry, across the Colorado River and up Lee's backbone, and on to Grand Falls where they built a little house and stayed for the winter. They were visited by Wilford Woodruff that year and at his request carved his name on a rock near Grand Falls. They later moved to Concho, Arizona and then settled Shumway, Arizona near Snowflake.

Hi. I found your post via a Google search for Charles Shumway. I'm also a descendant of him through his second wife, Louisa Minnerly. This looks like a cool place to check out. I'll have to add it to my bucket list.
Take care. :)
